Life Isn’t That Fast

That is right. I do not feel that life is as fast as many people say that it is.

Instead I feel that oftentimes people are not living in each moment and enjoying each day as it comes to them. Life isn’t that fast, but our brain’s may think that it is if they are not taking in each experience.

Let’s break down why life isn’t that fast if you really take each experience and love every second. Back in 2012 the average American lifespan was 78.8 years. To put that in perspective in one year you have:

  • 12 months
  • 52.1775 weeks
  • 365.242 days
  • 8765.81 hours
  • 525,949 minutes
  • 31,556,952 seconds

Why Does It Matter?

As you can see there is a lot of time in only one year when you break it down. However, if you do not feel well, if you are in pain or if your brain is not working properly you may feel as if you lose time to do the things that you love to do. This is a reality and not just a perception. You will not be able to live your life to the fullest if you do not take care of the brain. It will not allow you to have the same experiences as somebody who is healthy. Remember that all experiences happen in the brain since this is where you process them and if you are unable to do something, not able to enjoy it or cannot remember it then it is as if it didn’t happen and your life seems shorter.

Now, by no means am I so innocent as to believe that I wouldn’t love to have a little more time in each day, year and lifetime. Of course not. However, I am making sure to take care of my brain while I am young to love and experience everything that happens now, so that I will remember them and have even more new experiences to love as I age. Just make sure that you take a little appreciation in every second of what you are doing and each day will get just a little bit longer for you.
