Healthy Early Summer Blueberry Chocolate Smoothie

Breakfast is no doubt a very important meal. Oftentimes people ask me because they struggle with finding something to eat in the morning because there are often a lot of caveats that come up:

Want to have it taste good

Short on time

Don’t want the same thing day in and day out

It has to be a healthy breakfast recipe

I am with you on all accounts here which is why I decided to share one of my favorite healthy recipes with you. This is something that I eat on days that I don’t fast and will rotate it in with other things that I might eat for breakfast. It is also for early summer because a lot of the ingredients listed are ones that are coming up in my garden or are available down at the farmer’s market right now. You can certainly have it other times of year, but everything might not be as fresh and you will have to get it at the grocery store depending on the growing climate for you and your local farmers.

Ingredients:

10oz water

Handful of loose leaf lettuce

Handful or 2 of blueberries

2 stalks of celery

3 egg yolks plus ½ shell (great minerals in the shell)

3 Tbsp raw cacao

3 Tbsp collagen powder

2-4 Tbsp coconut oil (depending on how much fat you need)

A few shakes of turmeric and cinnamon

1 Tbsp of local raw honey if it is too bitter for you or just because local raw honey is awesome!

Preparation:

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth

Pour into glass jar and go sit out back with your feet in the grass while you catch some morning sun

There you have it. It meets all of the criteria. It tastes delicious, is easy to make up in a pinch of time, it can be a switch from your normal routine and is a healthy breakfast recipe that you can use for yourself and your family.

Have a Great Day!
